Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese light touch energetic healing modality.   Formed from the Japanese word symbols for Rei, or universal, and Ki, meaning life force or energy, Reiki, like Chinese Qi or Indian Prana, involves universal life force or, as some of us describe it, Divine life force. Treatments can stimulate, activate, and replenish the body’s energy field and chakras with universal life force or, if you connect with the term, Divine energy.

Melissa is an attuned Usui Reiki Master and Karuna Reiki® Master and a certified LaHoChi energy facilitator. She offers hands-on Reiki sessions by appointment in Chamblee, GA and with more limited availability in Hayesville, NC. She also offers virtual sessions via Zoom or phone. For some people, virtual sessions feel more appropriate after at least one hands-on session.

In a live session, the client remains fully clothed, receiving Reiki while lying on a massage table or, for reasons of comfort or physical restriction, sitting in a chair or resting in a comfortable place. Melissa then moves through the client’s energy system with a light touch or with hovering hands, infusing, clearing, balancing, opening and, at times, “reading” the energetic field. Clients should plan to spend approximately 1 ½ hours for a hands-on session. The hands-on work lasts about an hour, and the remainder of the time is to settle in initially and then to share any energetic reads, insights, or gleanings to interested clients at the end of the session.

Virtual sessions by Zoom or phone follow a similar format, with the client lying prone or sitting comfortably to receive Reiki remotely. The client may remain connected with Melissa by phone or Zoom for the entire session or may choose to disconnect after the initial set-up to relax for the remainder of the transmission and to reconnect at the conclusion for a de-briefing discussion if desired.

$130 per session. Package discounts available. Sliding-scale arrangements also considered when needed.

In addition to individual sessions, Melissa teaches and attunes those interested in practicing Reiki by individual or group arrangement. Classes with attunements are arranged privately, and pricing varies by level.
